For four years now, BOM has been a primary source for outdoor information and has highlighted the outdoor activities and experiences of African-American men and women. The magazine has stood behind its mission to promote and increase outdoor activity in the African-American community and to provide alternative leisure to foster positive physical and spiritual wellness.

The magazine offers articles that capture adventure from the eyes of a new face in the outdoors. Each year more and more African-Americans participate in outdoor activities, from white-water rafting to downhill snowboarding. Whether catering to the first time adventurer or seasoned thrill seeker, the magazine seeks to be the primary resource for outdoor activity in the African-American community.

Through our extensive network of outdoor field editors and personal stories from thousands of outdoor participants, the magazine showcases such activities as salt and freshwater fishing, hunting, kayaking, rafting, scuba-diving, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and much more. Articles will include the latest information on each outdoor sport, events, new products, outdoor cuisine, tips, vacation hot spots for the sports enthusiast and casual outdoor participant, outdoor club, and medical and fitness information.
