Great Sunroom Designs
Posted by in Sunroom Designs on August 24, 2011
Sunrooms are essentially conservatories or porches where the walls and ceiling are glass or Pyrex in order to allow the sunlight to come in while at the same time keeping the wind and the rain out. What this then does is to give you a place to sit in either the sun or the rain, where you can feel as though you’re outdoors without any of the downsides that come with actually sitting in the garden.
The best sunroom designs should have a lot of bare glass in order to show off the garden and let in the maximum amount of light. This will make you feel as though you’re sat outside and can be a great way to combat ‘cabin fever’ if you have been in the house all day. At the same time the amount of light coming in can help combat seasonal disorders such as SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and generally leave you feeling more energetic, bubbly and optimistic. As such, the very best sunroom designs will have their furniture facing outwards into the garden too to make the most of that view and of your hard horticultural work. This is also likely to be a place where people want to relax and rest and so it makes sense to try and include space on a table for having drinks or food so that you can enjoy doing this with the view behind. Other great things to include in your sunroom designs are somewhere to recline so that you can lie back to read a book or to look up at the stars. Similarly you might also want to include somewhere to work, as many people find they can focus better and are more productive when they have a view of their garden or just generally the outdoors.
